Betty Sue Davis, 85, passed from this life on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the Highlands in Owasso.
Sue Davis was born on February 26, 1937, in Rock Creek, OK to Archie Blackston and Ruby (Puckett) Lambert. Sue was the oldest child of three girls. Sue’s family traveled around the country in the oil field when she was young. When it was time for high school her father asked her where she wanted to graduate from. She picked Hominy, Ok. The family moved to Hominy so she could spend her high school years in one school. She graduated from Hominy in 1955 where she was involved in the girl’s glee club, mixed chorus, the honor society, the small chorale, student council, vice president of her class, and a basketball attendant. Sue became a member of the First Baptist Church when she moved here and has been a lifelong member.
During high school she met Ancil Davis. They got married April 15, 1957 and spent the next 59 plus years together. To this union they had three children, two boys and a girl. Sue started working at the First National Bank in Hominy. Then she was the bookkeeper for her husband at the service station, until she went to work for the Oklahoma Correctional System, where she was in the payroll department. She retired from there.
Sue loved spending time with her family. She was an incredible seamstress. Her and her sisters loved to go shopping at J.C. Penney.
