Barbara J. Davis was born February 15, 1934 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Gladys and Elmer Glen Wofford. She passed away January 11, 2015 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 26 days.
Barbara grew up in Vinita and attended school at White Oak. After graduating from high school, she moved to Tulsa and continued her education at business school. She was married to Paul Douglas Davis, Jr. on March 5, 1955. Paul was employed with Goodyear and they lived in several different towns in Oklahoma and Texas before moving to Elk City in 1974 to make their home. Barbara was employed for several years with the Cooper West Agency and later worked for John West until her retirement. She loved playing Bridge and was active in the community and helped with many charitable organizations including Meals On Wheels and the HELP Center. Barbara was a faithful member of the Elk City First Christian Church where she served as an Elder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Jack Wofford.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Richard Kent Davis and wife, Leslie Ann, Grove, OK, Stephen Douglas Davis, Elk City, OK, Bryon Davis, Elk City, OK; 9 grandchildren, P. J. Davis, Shannon Russell, Nathan Davis, Chris Davis, Kevin Davis, Jacob Davis, Stephen Austin Davis, Brooke Deanne Boulden, Lisa Nichole Schoefeldt, 9 great grandchildren, a brother, Everett (Bud) Wofford, Moore, OK; sister, Glenda Allen, Aurora, CO; sisters-in-law, Carole Tucker, Tulsa, OK and Donna Wofford, Vinita, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.
