Kourtney began her life boldly taking over her oldest sister’s, Kobee, birthday. This trend continued for Kourtney’s entire short, but very vibrant life. She took over, or filled, every space blessed with her presence. Very early in life, Kourtney was challenged with a disease with no name and no understanding, much later to be known as RTD, Riboflavin Transporter Deficiency. Kourtney met that challenge unflinchingly and won battle after battle with her loving family surrounding her every step of the way. Kourtney was limited only physically. Her spirit was limitless.
Kourtney loved her family completely. Her favorite role could have been Aunt Korky, being the best aunt in the world to her beautiful nieces, Gracie, KK and Braelyn. She was a fantastic sister to Koko (Kobee) and Boogie (Kendra). Their love for one another was boundless, although they did not always see eye to eye. Kourtney was blessed to have the best nurse/sister in the world, Boogie, to take care of her, and Boogie was blessed to be able to love and care for Kourtney. Kourtney sought Koko’s approval and reassurance whenever she wasn’t sure about something. She trusted her big sisters. She loved Kendra Chinn and trusted her completely and loved arguing with her when needed. Kourtney loved her daddy (D) and especially loved making sure he went through every single bag and every drawer with her to reorganize her precious keepsakes, which of course, he would do whatever she wanted because Kourtney was his baby girl. Kourtney always loved the endless hours spent with Marie in the kitchen, cooking her whatever she desired. Kourtney loved Steve (S) and trusted him to do exactly whatever she wanted him to do, and he would, with infinite patience. Even on her grumpiest days Steve always found a way to put a smile on her face. Kourtney loved her mama so much. They had a bond that is timeless and deep. Kourtney sought Beejay’s approval for everything and preferred it if Beejay checked in with Kourtney for everything as well. If you know, you know.
Kourtney, you will always be loved and missed here. Jesus blessed each of us with your presence but for a while and now you are home with Him. We know that Kourtney loved Jesus and is in His arms now.
