John Darling was born May 24, 1955 in Raymondville, Texas to Dorothy Faye and Jimmy Edward Darling, Sr. He passed away December 4, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 10 days.
John grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. He met his former wife, Patricia Davis, while living in Houston, Texas where their daughter Sara was born to them in 1993. They remained in Houston and late moved to Harlingen, Texas for a short time before returning to Houston. He split his time in Oklahoma and Texas until 2012 when he moved to Elk City to make his home. John worked in construction and the oilfield. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his dog, Buster.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his daughter, Sara Darling, Pasadena, TX; his mother, Dorothy Faye, Llano, TX; his sisters and brothers, Jimmy Darling, Jr. & wife, Margaret, Big Spring, TX, Kathleen Smith, Llano, TX, Karen Keller, Buchanan Town, TX, Jody Darling & wife, Charlotte, Elk City, OK; a lifelong friend, Mike Shows, Hockley, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Private family services will held at a later date.
