Terry Daniels, 73, of Pittsburg, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 in McAlester.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home in McAlester. Cremation will follow the visitation.
Terry Phillip Daniels was born December 13, 1947 to Roy Ralph Daniels and Deloice Irene (Walker) Daniels in McAlester, Oklahoma. He and his siblings were raised in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, this being his home for the majority of his life.
As a young man, Terry became a guitarist. He was blessed with his skills as a guitarist and his talent was certainly enjoyed by most. He loved to light up the strings to his “Red Fender” electric guitar!
March 15, 1966 Terry married Sharon June Griffin. They were married for twenty-one years. During their marriage, they had two daughters, Sharon DeShawn and Tina Rene, and a son, Terry Phillip Jr. “TJ”.
Terry attended college at Southeastern University in Durant. He then began a successful career as a machinist for Rockwell, later known as Boeing. He retired from Boeing after 38 years of service.
Terry was an avid hunter. He especially enjoyed squirrel hunting. He enjoyed rides across the mountain, coffee and breakfast with good friends, telling jokes, and time with his family.
Gage Brookshire, Tori Parent, Justice Smith, Jarron Smith, and Brandon Kidd according to their Grandpa, Terry the Great, were the best grandkids a man could ever ask for.
Although Terry will be missed, there is comfort knowing in his final days he rededicated his life to Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Terry is preceded in death by his father: Roy Daniels; his mother: Deloice Daniels; his brother: Mike Daniels; his infant sister: Josephine Daniels; his nephew: Scott Daniels; and his uncle: Alvie Daniels.
Terry is survived by his daughters: DeShawn Smith and husband Jimmie of McAlester, and Tina Daniels of Kiowa; his son: TJ Daniels and wife Michelle of Pittsburg; his brother: Roy Daniels of Kiowa; his sisters: Carolyn Cearley and husband Clem of Kiowa, and Evelyn Newton of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren: Gage Brookshire and wife Darby of McAlester, Tori Parent and husband Bret of Kiowa, Justice Smith of McAlester, Jarron Smith of McAlester, and Brandon Kidd of Pittsburg; a special niece: Sandy Kinsey of Kiowa; and other family members and friends.
