Thank You For Your Service!

Dr. James Fowler Curtis

June 14, 1916 ~ September 17, 2008

Dr. James F. Curtis, D.C. was born in Okla. City on June 14, 1916 and entered into the Lord's kingdom on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Graduated from Capitol Hill High School and served with the 36th Infantry Division during WWII until honorably discharged in 1945.

A graduate of Carver Chiropractic College, Dr. Curtis was an outstanding chiropractor, honest and very considerate of his patients. As a testament of the excellent care he gave, Dr. Curtis had several individuals who became patients of his during Chiropractic school and remained with him throughout his 50 year practice.

He was an excellent bowler and he had a keen sense of humor; he love a good joke and enjoyed telling them even more. He had a mischievous laugh, an engaging smile, warm personality and a kind, sweet spirit.

Predeceased by his first wife and Chiropractic partner, Dr. Lorna Langmore.

Survived by his wife of 27 years, Veda Curtis, two step-daughters: Lou Ann Newman and husband Frank of Sugar Land, TX and their daughter Claire; Jodi Yanci of Clarksville, TN and her son Ryan. He always referred to 'my favorite nieces': Janet Durham of Kerens, TX; Betty Jo Gracia of Coeur d'Alene, ID and Linda May and husband Jerry of Okla. City. Several great nieces and nephews.

Our heartfelt thanks to Crossroads Hospice and their staff and also to Debra and Jerri who all provided excellent, loving and compassionate care. Services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church of which he was a devoted member. In lieu of flowers please consider donating a love offering to Mission Mailbag, P.O. Box 7314, Moore, Ok 73153-1314 where Dr. Curtis and his wife volunteered for many years to help support foreign missionaries and to spread the Gospel.
