Gene Arnold Currid
April 23, 1934 - December 17, 2012

Currid, Gene A., 78, of Midwest City passed into the presence of the Lord on December 17, 2012. Born to Harold and Nellie Currid on April 23, 1934 in Taunton, Massachusetts,

Gene was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and Korean War Veteran (Army & Navy) who drove an 18-wheeler for over 56 years. He and his wife have lived in Midwest City & Choctaw for the past 40 years.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.

He is survived by his wife Diana, daughters Christy Higdon & Melissa Pratt and sons Arch Currid, Kenneth Bledsoe & Loyd Hollis. He has 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons.

A celebration of Gene"s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 20th at Bible Baptist Church, 11498 NE 10th, Choctaw. Visitation will be held noon - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Barnes Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to, "A Place of Honor, Midwest City Veterans Memorial" in care of the Midwest City Rotary Club. See www.aplaceofhonor.org for more details.
