Lois (Floyd) O'Brien Cunningham
January 16, 1914 ~ April 24, 2014

Lois Cunningham was born January 16, 1914 in Choctaw, Oklahoma and died April 24, 2014 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was brought into this world on the coldest day in Oklahoma history and worked the cotton fields with her sister Hazel picking cotton.

She attended the Old Kansas Farm School and later finished up her education by graduating from Choctaw High School.

She met and married Walter C. O'Brien of Deer Creek, Oklahoma in 1934 and her first child Patsy Lou was born in 1935 followed by Carol Ann in 1939, Sue in 1941 and finally the baby Faye in 1943.

She worked for many years at Dentons Clothing Store in Edmond as the head of sales and one of the finest seamstresses to lay needle to cloth. She spent her later years enjoying crochet, crosswords, friends, gardening and the company of her youngest grandchild Ginger and her husband Jimmy, and the two baby dogs Dasher and Roxie, the lights of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father C. C. Floyd; her mother Willie Faye Brown; husbands Walter C. O'Brien and Gale Cunningham; grandchildren Debbie Sandefur and Eric D. Woodside; all of her daughters, Sue Woodside, Carol Ann Crabb, Patsy Sandefur, and Faye O'Brien Poindexter; and five of her siblings, Hazel Ables, Herschel Floyd, C. C. Floyd, John Henry Floyd, and Mary Frances Osborne.

She is survived by one sibling, Donovan Floyd, Houston, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews in Texas and Oklahoma and her surviving grandchildren Ginger and Jimmy Parnell of the home; Terri and Mike McKay, and Pam and John Timmons all of Edmond; Mark and Camille Woodside of Midland, Texas; and Tawanna and Jimmy Crab of Las Vegas, Nevada; along with numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A memorial will be held Saturday May 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Ford Funeral Home in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
