Jerry went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 25th. He was born in Hanna, Oklahoma on September 13, 1942 to Jessie and David Cunningham.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dolly Hemmerling.

He graduated from Maricopa High School in 1961 and served in the Navy from 1959 to 1962. He became maintenance director at Stanford University before returning to Taft to work in the city garage until he retired in 1990.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene, of 21 years, his two sons, Robin of Seattle and Timothy of Sunnyvale, California; his step children Tom Spier, Peggy Bushnell, Jerry Spier, Donny Spier, Nancy Spier, Judy Mountaudon and Joan Dunham of Taft an many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his sisters, Norma Rolland of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Betty Wilson of Fresno, Patsy McMahon of Visalia, and his brother Billy Cunningham of Bakersfield, California, his travel/gold prospecting buddy, Pete Wilson of Fresno, as well as many special nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He loved to travel, fish and prospect for gold. Jerry truly enjoyed attending the Maricopa High School class reunions. His loving memory will be cherished by all who knew him. We miss him dearly.

Memorial lunch Wednesday, Jan. 31st 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Foursquare Gospel Church, 208 Harrison St., Taft, CA.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Big "M" Club of Maricopa High School, Athletic Dept., 955 Stanislaus St., Maricopa, CA 93252 would be greatly appreciated.
