Helen A. TOELLE-CUNHA passed away May 5, 2000. She was born November 25, 1910, in Dardenne, MO. She was raised on a farm near Canute, OK, and later moved to Oklahoma City.
Helen was employed by Kruger Investment Company for many years. She met Antone (Tony) Cunha while he was stationed at Tinker AFB. They were married on February 17, 1946, in All Saints Church, Hayward, CA. Tony was a Hayward Firefighter for many years.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Antone Cunha; her parents, George ToelleandUrsula Toelle; a brother, Eugene Toelle, and wife, Bernadine; and sisters, Regine Ricciotti and husband, Salvatore, and Urilla Schachle and husband, Joe Schachle; brother-in-law, Edward Barrett; brother-in-law, Joe Cunha; sister-in-law Mary Miranda;sister-in-law, Sylvia Fernandes and husband, Kenneth.
Helen is survived by her sisters, Genevieve Barrett, Wichita, KS; sister Mary Clotilda Toelle, Sister of Mercy, OKC; and brother, Charles Toelle and his wife, Lyn, OKC, Rosie and Senno Rodrigues, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Albert and Mae Cunha, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Lee Cunha, brother in-law and sister-in-law, all of Hayward, CA; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews of whom she was very fond. Helenloved to write poetry.
Those who received poems saved them. A very short poem... "It is in loving...Not in being loved The heart finds its quest It is in giving...not in getting. Our lives are blessed." Helen was a member of St. Francis ofAssisi Catholic Church, OKC. She was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Altar Society, the Young 60's Group, and the Carmelite Rosary Group.
A Prayer service is scheduled for Sunday, May 7, at 5:00 p.m. at the Mercer-Adams Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church will be held on Monday, May 8, at 10:30 a.m. In Hayward, CA, a vigil service will be held at the Sorensen Bros. Funeral Home, 1140 B St., on Tuesday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m.
A Funeral Mass at All Saints Catholic Church will be held on Wednesday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m.
Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
