Edwin "Edard" Culwell

Edwin "Edard" Culwell
March 22, 1953 ~ October 15, 2014

Edwin "Edard" Culwell was born March 22, 1953, in the Meadowbrook Community of Love County, the son of Harold Young and Hazel Addie Matthews Young. He passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at his residence at Lone Grove, OK, at the age of 61.

A resident of this area his entire life, Mr. Culwell was a mechanic. He served in the U.S. Air Force and then was employed by the Red River Valley Rural Electric Association as a mechanic for a number of years. Most recently he had been self-employed. Edard was very involved in community activities and served on the Marietta School Board for several years. He enjoyed working on race cars, going to races and flagging races. In the evenings Edard would work on cars for friends. He was very mechanically inclined and could build anything. Edard loved visiting with friends and spending time outdoors, especially at the lake.

Mr. Culwell was preceded in death by his parents; two sister, Cathy Culwell and Barbara Elliott; and two brothers, Butch Culwell and Gus Culwell. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Culwell; son and daughter-in-law, B.J. and Violet Culwell of Rhome, TX; two daughters, Codi Culwell and Nikki Culwell of Marietta; brother, Don Culwell, also of Marietta; six grandchildren, Bryson Culwell, Aden Lott, Brady Culwell, Ventura Culwell, Jaxon Lott, and Landon Culwell; dearest friend and companion, Karen Coffey of Lone Grove; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Serving as honorary bearers will be Scott Hurst, Sheldon Brown, Scott McBride, Larry McBride, Daren Flanagan, Mikey Wilson, Bryson Culwell, and Aden Lott.
