Eugene 'Mean Gene' Cruzan Sr.

December 18, 1929 ~ August 27, 2009

Eugene 'Mean Gene' Cruzan Sr., born December 18th, 1929 in Leflore, Texas, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, August 27th, 2009. He will always be remembered as loving and cherished brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather with indelible wit and charisma.

Eugene is survived by a large extended family as well as may lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by brother Tommy; father and mother, Lester and Lucy, son Carl and wife Peggy.

He is survived by his eldest son Eugene 'Skip' Cruzan Jr. and wife Molly Cruzan of OKC, son Michael Cruzan of MWC, son Josh and wife Jennifer Cruzan of MWC, two special daughters Dara and Trudy and dear friend and caretaker Clara. He is also survived by sister Sharon Perkins of Tulsa, sister-in-law Lana Jackson of Berkley, CA, brother-in-law Jim Irwin and wife Donna of Tulsa, nieces Laura Bury and husband Ray, Sharon Davis, nephews David Jackson and wife Cinnamon, Kerry Irwin, David Hulsey, eight grandchildren, Savannah, Carly, Carra, T.J., Delaney, Casey, Bethany and Colt, one great-grandchild Estella Grace.

Eugene was an accomplished athlete lettering in football at NEO, he was a State Champion Golden Glove Boxer from Tulsa, an avid golfer and member of the Hole-In-One Club, little league baseball coach and bowler. He is a graduate of Tulsa Central High School and received a degree from the University of Tulsa in Business Administration. He also donated his time as a member of Meals on Wheels and was an accomplished grocery shopper that could always beat the prices at Crest!

Memorial Donations may be made to the Choctaw United Methodist Church.

His family will be present from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday for visitation.

Eugene always loved to have people drop in so please feel free to visit at any time.
