Kathryn Elaine (Rigney) Crupper

Kathryn Elaine (Rigney) Crupper
August 26, 1923 ~ October 18, 2018

Kathryn Elaine Crupper, 95, of Bartlesville, died Thursday in Bartlesville, at home with her family.

Kathryn "Elaine" was born the daughter of William Walter and Etta Pearl (Diediker) Rigney on Aug. 26, 1923, in Paola, KS. Elaine was raised in the Paola area and in her teen years the family moved to Fairfax, OK, where she continued her education, participated in band and worked at the Tall Chief (Movie) Theatre. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1941.

She married Kirk Boone, and they had three daughters. She married George Evans and moved to Bartlesville. Both of these husbands preceded her in death. Later in life, Elaine reconnected with an old school friend William Eugene Crupper, at a school reunion. They renewed their friendship, which led to a loving marriage on May 13, 1992. They made their home in Bartlesville. Bill preceded her in death in 1997. Elaine started her 20 plus year career with Phillips Petroleum Co., went on to work 15 years at McDonalds and then finished her working life with 10 years at the Jane Phillips Medical Center Cafeteria at age 89. She loved to work and serve people and oftentimes had a side job.

Elaine had many passions in life, the first being her family. She enjoyed bingo, playing the organ, knitting, crocheting, watching gameshows, and was an avid reader. Together with Bill she enjoyed dancing and the many trips they made in their conversion van. Grandma's house was the place the grandkids wanted to be. There, they found love, peace, quiet faith, and soft strength. She was their advocate and will be dearly missed. She leaves a legacy of love that will endure and be hard to live up to.

Elaine is survived by three children, Viki Hoppock, Eydie Lott, both of Bartlesville, and Cody Burnett and Lyn of Lansing, KS; one brother Bob Rigney of Bartlesville; six grandchildren, Kathie Jacobs and David, Willis Gay III, Shawn Lott, Stevi Wright, all of Bartlesville, Debbie Parks and Terry of Kingfisher, Ryan Lott and Krystal of Fort Riley, KS; 10 great grandchildren, Kilan Jacobs and Mary, Raney Jacobs, Sadie Paulson and Sterling, Solomon Jacobs, Zephaniah Jacobs, Jessica Waters and Cody, Joshua Burnett, Jana Burnett, Jeramia Burnett, Hayden Lott, Morgan Lott, Madysen Lott, Jaxon Lott, Jordyn Lott, Kinley Wickham, Sterling Gay, Tiana Ballinger; and 10 great great grandchildren, Luna, Izhinke, Otaza, Kihekah, Elijah, Darionna, Dreden, MiompahZhi, C.J. and Zane.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother John Rigney, daughter Jann Burnett and grandson Chase Wright.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Services were under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel.
