Verlin "Kent" Crow, 61, lifelong Shawnee, Oklahoma resident passed from this life Wednesday, August 7, 2019 in Shawnee.
He was born November 6, 1957 to Billy Gene and Joyce (Long) Crow in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Kent was raised in the Shawnee/Earlsboro area and attended Earlsboro Public Schools. He graduated with the class of 1976 from Earlsboro High School. Kent attended Gordon Cooper Technology Center for carpentry.
He married Kathryn “Kathy” Wittmann on July 23, 1976 at the First Baptist Church in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2019.
Kent was a skilled tradesman and a very talented and accomplished carpenter. He worked for W.P. Atkinson for over 15 years and retired from the Shawnee Housing Authority in 2006.
He enjoyed riding his bike, visiting with friends and family while sitting on the porch, and attending Alumni get togethers, where he played competitive horseshoes, being outdoors, watching OU football, watching Kari play softball and spending Friday nights with Kathy watching “Blue Bloods”. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Jace.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathryn “Kathy” Crow; and his mother, Joyce Crow.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved daughter Kari Bias and husband Rusty of Shawnee, OK; 2 grandsons, Jace Bias and Maddix Bias; his father, Billy Gene Crow; 2 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law, Ricky and Claudia Crow and Kenneth and Dee Crow; 2 sisters and brothers-in-laws, Theresa and Rick Cody and Sherri and Terry Compton; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2019 at Hilltop Baptist Church in Shawnee with Reverend Gary Nickerson, Hilltop Baptist Church officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
