William "Bill" Edward Crossland, age 84, of Harrah, Oklahoma, was born July 13, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of William Ernist and Clara G. Davis Crossland. He left this life on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Bill received numerous degrees from across the country and his Masters degree from Alabama State.
He proudly served in and retired from the U.S. Air Force, then worked at Tinker AFB as a safety director for several years. Bill was also a professor in engineering at OSU and a founding member of OSHA. He was a member of the Oklahoma Ham Radio Club and the Sooner Dreamers Club.
Bill enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing and loved to travel. He could play any instrument by ear but especially loved playing the guitar.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Bunny Sue, one step-son, Kevin Russell, one brother and two sisters.
He is survived by three sons, Bill Crossland, Jr. of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Patrick Crossland of Warr Acres, Oklahoma and Mark Russell of Anaheim, California, two daughters, Wendy Crossland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Denise Crossland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, several grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at the First Baptist Church, Choctaw, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, Oklahoma.
