Mary Ellen (Bowles) Crockett
December 16, 1928 ~ December 20, 2017

Mary Ellen (Bowles) Crockett passed away 12/20/17, surrounded by her family in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was born to Cleo David and Alice (Hayes) Bowles 12/16/1928 on a farm west of Cherokee, OK.

Mary graduated from Lambert School, Northwestern State University (BS) and Oklahoma State University (MS). She married Dr. Jerry J. Crockett in Cherokee on 5/26/51, and taught school at Beaver, Oklahoma; Higgins, Texas, and Ponca City, Oklahoma, before becoming a devoted mother to Warren Alan, Martha Jo and Sally Beth. With brief sojourns in Hayes, Kansas, Norman, Oklahoma and Moscow, Idaho, she lived the rest of her life in Stillwater.

Mary retired from Oklahoma State University, and enjoyed her life of travel, bridge, reading, gardening and tending her humming birds each year. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Lahoma, and supported many charities. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember summers of swimming, ball games, African Violets and snow cones.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, a sister Ann Murrow (Paul), a brother J.C. Bowles (Carol), son in-law Bob Campbell and beloved niece Paulette West. She is survived by husband Jerry of the home, son Warren of Stillwater, daughter Martha Campbell of Pampa, Texas, and daughter Sally Alexander (William) of Oklahoma City. Also grandchildren Bill(Pampa), Kathryn(Pampa), Chris(Dallas) and Tora(Oklahoma City) Campbell, Shane Crockett, Chad Crockett (Regina) and Erica Crockett of Stillwater, and Ally Pritchard, Jillian Ball (Jason) and Theresa Alexander all of Oklahoma City. Also great grandsons Tucker and Parker Crockett of Stillwater and Liam Ball of Oklahoma City, nephew Charles Murrow (Shirley) of Alva, Pam Patton (David) of Vienna, MO and Jamie Bowles Kelley (Frank) of Shawnee, and their children and grandchildren.

At Mary's request, there will be no formal services. The family wishes to thank Physician's Choice Hospice, caregivers Donna Bieri, Jordyn Coulson, Jennifer Gobles, Jenni Eikenbary, Emmie Mapemba, Cathy Gil, Krissy Green and Ramona and others. They are proof there are angels on earth.
