Jimmie Dean Crittendon passed from this life on August 30, 2022, at 86 in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Jim was born on December 6, 1935, in Wetumka, Oklahoma was the son/daughter of Lessel and Pearl W. (Stuckey) Crittendon. Jim attended school and grew up in Holdenville, where he completed his education. Jim began working on the pipeline throughout the United States as a young man.
Jim enrolled at Tulsa Welding School in 1965. In the early 1970s, Jim began working at Fram Filters in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After several years Jim accepted a position at G.T. Bynum Company. Jim later retired in 1985 from Piping Engineering as a fabricator welder. After retirement, Jim and his wife Edith, of 53 years, began traveling throughout the United States as park hosts at state and national parks. In the early 2000s, Jim and Edith returned to Mannford. In 2014, Jim moved to Cleveland, and on August 7, 2015, Jim was united in marriage to Patricia Hale.
Jim enjoyed working with wood, carving numerous items, making many prized possessions for his family and friends, and spending many days fishing, hunting, and traveling. His favorite food was Mexican, and his favorite restaurant was El Patron. Working on the farm was always something he enjoyed doing as well as spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors are his wife Pat of the home, four children Kathy Rake of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kurt Wachtendorf and his wife Patricia of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Lyndal Crittendon of Mannford, Oklahoma, Carol Garrison and husband Jerry of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and one brother Ray Crittendon and his wife Loretta of Corpus Christi, Texas as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lessel and Pearl Crittendon, two sons, Richard Wachtendorf and Wyndal Crittendon, and a wife, Edith.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the Westport Baptist Church, with Fred Kerr and Brandon Morton officiating.
