Henry “Keith” Cresap
July 24, 1938 ~ November 5, 2024

Henry “Keith” Cresap, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 5, 2024, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Keith was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 24, 1938, to Gwen and Vurn Cresap. The family moved to Vinita when Keith was 12 years old.

Keith graduated from Vinita High School in 1956 and attended college at O. U. and NSU Tahlequah, where he received his B. A. degree in Sociology.

He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for five years as a Staff Sergeant. Keith and Suzanne Rolle were united in marriage on August 27, 1960, at the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Vinita. They were married for over 64 years. Keith and Suzy raised their family in Vinita, where he was in the insurance and real estate business for many years, and finished working for Grand Lake Mental Health. Keith was an avid golfer, winning many club championships at the Vinita Country Club. He also enjoyed watching OU football, hunting, fishing, and cooking the game he harvested for his family. He especially enjoyed talking sports with his grandchildren and bragging about their accomplishments. Keith was a member of the Lions Club, the American Legion, and served on the City of Vinita planning committee. He was a member of the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Vinita, where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He had a quick sense of humor and loved to play jokes on his many friends and family. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother in law and best friend Daivd Rolle.

The surviving family includes his wife Suzy, a son, David Cresap and wife Mary Beth, daughters, Cindy Spurgeon and husband John, Amy Cresap, eight grandchildren, Courtney McCarthy and husband Matt, Colleen Cresap, Mary Kate Cresap and fiancée Dylan Kurz, Caitlyn Jennings and husband Austin, Carsyn Kolb and husband Jake, Olivia Given, John Luke Spurgeon, and Carter Given. Five great grandchildren, Brynn and Blake Jennings, Brooklyn and Bodee Kolb, Connor McCarthy, and one on the way. Brother and sister in law, Denny Cresap and wife Gail, nephews, John Cresap and Cody Sutton, Kirk and Michelle Rolle, Paul Rolle, nieces, Stephanie Waldeck and husband Chris, Terri Bond and husband Craig.

The celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Vinita, with Pastor Ken Bailey officiating, along with speakers, Tom Lovett, Carsyn Kolb, and Mary Kate Cresap. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. “Vinita’s only locally owned and operated funeral home.”
