Robert "Bob" "Cobfoot" Crawford

The memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Robert “Bob” “Cobfoot” Crawford of Ames, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Ames Wildcat Community Center. Complete cremation care services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. The services will be live streamed under the Brown-Cummings Facebook page.

Bob was born April 13, 1936, to Lester and Earnestine Shook Crawford on the family farm east of Ames, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Ames and graduated in 1954. He then attended OSU and Okmulgee Tech. He married his wife of over 67 years Louise Goodale. January 14, 1956 to this union was born Sherry, Terry, Karey, Jerry and Larry. They moved to Wichita where he worked for Boeing and later worked for the construction of I-35. In 1958 the couple returned to Ames, where they made their home. He farmed and worked as a custom harvester. He later owned and operated Bobco Construction for 11 years. He then worked for Major County for 18 1/2 years. He retired in July 2016. He also served his community on the school board for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, telling stories, always had a joke, and loved watching his game shows.

He is survived by his wife Louise; children, Sherry Gray and Karey Jean Crawford of Ames, Jerry Scott, of Edmond, and Larry Aldon Crawford, of Oklahoma City; sisters Twilla Nusz and Caroleen Clester of Okeene; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Terry Seay; and four brothers and four sisters.
