Norma Dean (Mills) Crawford

Dec. 24, 1929 ~ Feb. 26, 2004

Funeral services will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home of Wasco on Monday, March 1, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Community Church in Wasco for Norma Dean Crawford, age 74, of Bakersfield, formerly of Wasco, who passed away on February 26, in Bakersfield. Pastor Wayne Montgomery of Wasco Christ Community Church will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.

Norma was born in Stigler, OK, on December 24, 1929, the daughter of William Tony and Ida Belle Mills. Growing up Norma had the support of six brothers and four sisters and later in life this grew into a large loving extended family. She moved to Wasco, CA in 1940 and attended schools and graduated from Wasco High. There she met her future husband and life long partner, Emry Crawford. They were married in July of that year and remained in the Wasco area raising two children and farming.

Norma is survived by her loving husband, Emry Crawford; daughter, Cindy Miller and son-in-law, David; son, Chris Crawford and daughter-in-law, Kathie; grandchildren, Jason Ladrigan, Donivan Crawford and wife, Cherri, and Amy Crawford; brothers, Hubert Mills and wife, Rae, Jay W. Mills and wife, Zelda, Tony "Gene" Mills and wife, Lee, Pat Mills and wife, Joanne; sisters, Rena Wilson and husband, Vernon, Rita Portwood and husband, Ordell; sister-in-law, Irene Mills, wife of Roy Mills (deceased); and many nephews, nieces and cousins whom she loved dearly.
