Darla Jean Crater, age 76, was born on October 31, 1946, to James and Mary Driskill in Durant, Oklahoma. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 21, 2023. Darla found love with her late husband Jack Taylor and was blessed to find love again with Edward Crater. Darla was a loving Christian woman and she attended Compassion Outreach in Calera where she loved to serve by cooking for events. She enjoyed sewing and watching gospel and bluegrass music.
Darla is preceded in death by her parents James Newel Driskill and Mary Alice (Arrington) Driskill. Her sister Clarice Artirip and brother Donald Driskill.
Left to cherish her memories are her children: son Jimmy Taylor of Calera and children Jason Taylor of Durant, and Katherine Taylor of TN. Her daughter Alice Thomas and husband Cory of Calera and children, Johnathon Ketron of TN two step-grandchildren Piper Thomas and Brailin. Son Johnny Taylor and children Christian Taylor and Raylee Diane Taylor both of Erick, OK. Sister Wanda Bowles of Achille and aunt Darlene Johnson of Achille. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren.
A celebration of life is set for Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 10:00 AM
followed by a memorial visitation for friends and family to share memories
at 11:00 AM. Officiating is Pastor David Irving. Services are under the
direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Durant. Online condolences can be
