Nancy Elizabeth (Ramsey) Cozens

October 5, 1950 ~ January 16, 2013

Nancy Elizabeth Cozens went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Nancy was born at home in Choctaw, Oklahoma, on November 5, 1950 to Leona M. Ramsey and Clarence James "Bud" Ramsey.

Nancy met the love of her life, David Cozens, on a blind date in 1967. After dating less than a year, they married on March 12, 1968.

Nancy ran a home day care for many years and loved many children. She also enjoyed various arts and crafts, namely ceramics. She loved creating and sewing clothes for her family, and enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her cinnamon rolls! In recent years, she enjoyed serving in various ministries of the First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park, including teaching Sunday School; singing in the Cornerstone Senior Adult and PriaSingers Adult Choirs; Secretary for 39ers; and many others. But her heart was truly dedicated to the WeCare ministry where in addition to providing food, clothing and counseling to those in need, she was instrumental in growing this ministry by working with the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank to be able to serve even more people. While serving in this ministry, she was privileged to see the original facility replaced with a new, more modern and spacious one.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bud and Leona Ramsey.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, David Cozens; two daughters - Annette Vann and her husband, Tracy of Del City; and Shirley Hair and her husband Gary of Norman; four grandchildren " Nick and Rena Vann, Kyle Cozens, and Tommy Hair; four brothers- James Ramsey and his wife Marilyn of Midwest City; David Ramsey and his wife Cynthia of Choctaw; Ron Ramsey and his wife Cathy of Midwest City; Paul Ramsey and his wife, DeeAnn of Choctaw, and one sister, Janie Willis of Newalla. She is also survived by a host of other family and friends who love her and will greatly miss her.

A family visitation time will be available on Saturday evening from 6:00 "8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the We Care Ministry of First Baptist Church. Please continue to remember the family in your prayers at this time.
