Eula Mae "Jill" Cox of Yukon passed from this earth to her heavenly home on November 5th, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Jill was born during the Dust Bowl days to humble beginnings in Reydon, OK on November 15, 1933.
She was the 2nd of 10 children and the firstborn of twins to James and Clarabelle Hickey. Her twin, Zula Fae Moore preceded Jill in death in November 2017.
Jill married Jack Cox and had three sons, Jack Jr., James and Steve.
She became a nurse and followed her calling of caring for others throughout her life. In her later years, she enjoyed volunteering, tap dancing, bicycling and acting in plays.
Her volunteering included visiting numerous patients at skilled nursing and assisted-living homes as well as hospice patients.
She also helped teach Tai Chi, called bingo numbers, worked in the church nursery and delivered Mobile Meals. She volunteered at the Baptist Hospital gift shop and the thrift store for Pets and People in Yukon. Jill was very active at the Yukon and Mustang Senior Centers as well.
Jill was saved at 8 years of age in western Oklahoma and showed her love of Christ by doing good for others her entire life. She was energetic and always maintained a positive outlook no matter what she faced in her life. She was loved beyond measure by her family and will be greatly missed.
Jill was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clarabelle Hickey, brothers, Nathan and Lynn Hickey and sisters, Janelle Akin and Zula Fae Moore.
She is survived by her son, Jack Jr. and wife Maria of Sweetwater, TN, and their children, Dolores, Robert, Arthur and David; son, James and wife Jennifer of Arcadia, OK, and their children, Rebecca, James Jr. and Thomas; son, Steve and wife Angela of Boise, ID and daughter, Robin. 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great- grandchildren also survive her.
Jill also leaves behind her surviving brother, Don Hickey and sisters, Venice Bales, LaRue Smythe, Sylvia Ostlie & Sharon Pound. Jill had numerous nieces and nephews that loved her dearly and some that considered her a second mother.
Numerous people helped in Jill's medical care. Special thanks to Dr. Gregory Parker and his nurse, Lori. Thanks also to Good Shepherd Hospice, especially Kathy, her nurse, and Doris, her home health aide. Thanks also to Victorian Estates in Yukon; they all attended to Jill well and cared for her lovingly.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Christ's Church of Yukon at 620 W. Vandament Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Pets and People Humane Society of Yukon.
