Longtime Brawley, CA resident, Donna Lee (Drysdale) Cowell, age 81, of Purcell, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.
Donna Lee Drysdale was born June 29, 1935 in El Centro, CA to Rex and Lillian and Drysdale. She was raised in Brawley and attended Brawley Schools, graduating in 1952. While in school, she was active in 4-H and played the piano. She then attended the University of Redlands in Redland, CA. Donna married Richard Cowell on April 2, 1955 in Brawley. They settled on a farm near Calipatria, CA, where they lived and raised their family. In 1996, Richard and Donna retired, and settled in Purcell. Recently, they celebrated their 61st anniversary. Donna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a true friend.
She was preceded in death by: Her daughter, Teri Anderson and Her parents, Rex and Lillian Drysdale.
Donna leaves behind: Her husband, Richard Cowell of the home; Children, Keith Cowell and companion Socorro of Imperial, CA, Brian Cowell and wife Kimberly of Savannah, GA, Doug Cowell of Purcell, Sheri Gerhard of Purcell and Michelle Bishop of UT; Sister, Darlene Hays of Imperial, CA; 9 grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
A Family Visitation is scheduled for 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Send online condolences @ wilsonlittle.com. A visitation will be held at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley, California Friday, October 7, 2016 from 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brawley, California.
