Julia Cowart of Choctaw died Monday at the age of 86.
She was born on April 10, 1914, to John and Melinda (Mixon) Taylor in Douglas, Georgia.
She retired from Smith Hospital in Hahira, Georgia, where she worked as a nurse. She moved in 1997 to Harrah to live with her granddaughter, Janice Hughes.
Survivors include two sons, W. D. Tanner and Sidney Tanner; two daughters, Carrie Jean Richardson and Joy Lynn Browning; two sisters, Eva Parker and Faye Hannah; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Private family services have been arranged with Asa Smith Funeral Service.
