Chuck Covey

Chuck Covey
November 23, 1944 ~ November 12, 2016

Chuck Covey, of Ponca City, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Cox Medical Center in Branson, Missouri. He was 71 years old.

Chuck married Betty Hutcheson on September 5, 1961, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and they had recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Chuck was a 1963 graduate of Fairfax High School. He was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard, Elks Lodge, and American Legion. He retired from Conoco after 30 years. Chuck was an avid OU fan, and loved to spend time at Roaring River in Missouri, where he spent many days fishing the stream with friends and grandkids. His favorite hang-out, however, was the Red Barn, where he had many friends.

He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Debbie Covey and her companion Denny Farren, sister Sue Kelley and husband Lynn, brother in-law Dennis Hutcheson and wife Theresa, grandchildren Tiffany Covey, William Covey and wife Sarah, Crystal Campbell, and great-grandchildren Kalon, Rian, Brayten, and Quinn Covey, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his son Brad Covey, his parents Verl and Irene Covey, brother Bob Covey, and his in-laws Roy and Dorothy Hutcheson.

Pallbearers will be Larry Chitwood, Darren Swain, Chuck Lawler, Larry Hutcheson, Jason George, David Johnson, Ron Cordova, Shane Swords, Richard Swords, and Ray Hargis. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends at the Red Barn and Tom's Place.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Albright United Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Albright United Methodist Church in Chuck's memory.
