Phillip Donald Counterman

Phillip Donald Counterman of Bartlesville, OK met his Lord and Savior on October 1, 2016 at the age of 72.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Eloise Mae Counterman.

Phil was born and raised in Bartlesville and graduated from College High School in 1962. He proudly served his country as a United States Navy Storekeeper from 1962-1966, where in 1965 he met the love of his life Minh Thi Nguyen to whom he was married for 51 years. Phil served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon discharge from the Navy he continued to work in Vietnam as a civilian contractor from 1966 to 1970 until his return to the States. He was employed with TRW Reda Pump as an Engineer Technician and after 35 years of service he retired as a quality assurance engineer in 2004.

Phil is survived by his wife Minh Counterman, of Bartlesville, his son David Counterman and his wife Julie Counterman of Bartlesville; his daughter Carrie Counterman Williams and her husband Christopher Williams of Jacksonville, NC; three grandchildren Colin Williams of Morrisville, NC; Carli Williams of Blacksburg, VA and McKenna Counterman of Bartlesville.

To honor Phil's final wishes, there will not be a funeral service.

The family would like to thank their family and friends for their prayers and thoughts during this time.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Phil's name and those who wish may send their contributions to the American Cancer Society , 4110 South 100th East Ave., Suite 101, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74146.
