Thomas "TJ" Corley
July 10, 1935 ~ August 18, 2014

Thomas "TJ" Corley, Lawton, was born July 10, 1935 in Abilene, Texas. He died peacefully at his home on August 18, 2014 at the age of 79.

TJ grew up in Fort Worth, TX. He moved to Wichita, Kansas where he owned his own service station at the age of 18.

He enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after 2 years of service.

He married Frances Gatlin in Las Vegas on March 11, 1963. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1968 where TJ owned a TBA distributorship until they moved to Lawton in 1970.

TJ owned and operated Corley & Sons Tire Center and after a brief retirement he purchased Corley's Auto Salvage and Wrecker. Upon retirement, TJ was able to pursue his hobbies of golf, tinkering in his shop and fishing. He also loved getting on his "Deere" and mowing many acres around his home until his health began to fail. He also loved hunting, fishing, and camping, especially when his children were young. TJ loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Fran, of the home; son, Brad Corley and wife Kaycye of Lawton; 2 grandsons, Troy of OKC and Devin of Lawton, 2 granddaughters Lancye & Kaytlan Cochrane of Lawton & beloved niece, Gail Howard and husband Mel of Peoria, AZ. as well as many In-Laws and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dock and Lucille Gillespie; son, Terry Corley; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Ralph Stratton; and a nephew, Greg Stratton.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Cox's Store Volunteer Fire Dept. in TJ's name.
