Sarah Mary Corigan, daughter of Genoa Thomas Dickson and Lorna Keuhn Dickson was born April 21, 1945 in Livingston, MT. and passed from this life at the age of 73 at Woodward, OK. on February 3, 2019. Sarah grew up in the Ballantine, MT. community attending the Huntley Project school system in Worden, MT. through the eighth grade. On April 1, 1962 she eloped with Merlyn Dale Bailey and they were united in marriage at Missoula, MT. Two sons, Richard and Charles and two daughters, Tammy and Nancy were born to this union.
In addition to the role of wife and mother, Sarah was an accomplished truck driver. From 1972 thru 1991 she was employed by several motor carriers in numerous positions. She worked as a bookkeeper, a supervisor, an equipment inspector, a union negotiator and a cross country, long haul driver. She was awarded the professional truck drivers safe driving award for no accidents.
While living in Superior, MT., Sarah was elected to the city council and was a founding member of the Superior Baptist Church (later named the Parkside Baptist Church). She delivered the baptistery unit to the new church on her flatbed truck.
Her hobbies included painting, drawing and writing and the vital statistics of Yellowstone County MT. was a special interest.
Sarah and her family moved to Oklahoma in 1972. In 1977 They moved back to Montana after their house burned downed. Just recently Sarah moved back to Oklahoma and made her home in Gage where she resided at the time of her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Genoa and Lorna Dickson, her husband, Merlyn Bailey and her brother, Bryan Dickson. Survivors include her children, Nancy Jackson of Clinton, OK., Tammy Johnson and husband Gus of Fargo, OK., Charles Bailey and wife Lynn of Gage, OK. and Richard Bailey of Seattle, WA. Also, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, eight nieces, eleven nephews , other relatives and friends.
