David Alan Copeland

David Alan Copeland
February 4, 1954 ~ July 25, 2023

David Alan Copeland was born February 4, 1954 in Tulsa, Ok to Jess Willard Copeland and Eula Ann Kilpatrick. He left this life on July 25, 2023 to join his family and friends in his eternal life. David married in 1973 and divorced in 1993 and had two children Meghan and Jeremy. He then later remarried in 1997 to Lisa Newberry and gained two stepchildren Crystal and Ashley. They then went on to adopt 2 of their granddaughters Renemsee and Rosalie.

David was an Iron worker and a member of the local union 584 from 1976-1989 traveling across many states working alongside his brother and brother-in-law. He later worked as a pipe fence builder and the later as a pipe broker. He became a fence company owner where he worked alongside his son for 21 years, creating a lasting bond. David was an amazing father always present at his kids extra circular activities and life events. He also had a love and passion for Fort Gibson FFA and 4H. David was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a knack for making you laugh and mad at the same time. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experience: farming, deacon, iron worker and businessman, he could fix or build anything. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He was a surrogate father figure for many of his nieces and nephews having lost most of his siblings through the years. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He made an impact upon everyone that met him. David made many friends along his journey in life. In 1999, he met Conley Marshall through pipe broker business where they became life long friends till the very end with Conley remaining by his side.

David is survived by his wife Lisa, Renemsee, Rosalie of home. Son Jeremy and daughter in law Michele, grandchildren Austin and Brooklyn of Fort Gibson, Ok.
