Daris Lee Cope
August 6, 1964 ~ January 6, 2023

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Daris Lee Cope, 58, of Texas, formerly of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday January 16, 2023, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ryan Nelson officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army National Guard Honor Team. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Daris was born August 6, 1964, to Thurman “Dale” and Arvilla Stafford Cope in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life January 6, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Enid graduating from Enid High School. He enlisted in the United States Army National Guard in 1991 and served in the 1 BN 179 Infantry of Edmond Det 1 HHC and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. While enlisted he achieved his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He honorably retired in 2013. He was very proud of his military service and working in law enforcement as a deputy.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping, going on cruises and scuba diving.

He is survived by his sisters Angie Diven, of Turney, Missouri, Teresa Roberts, of Clarksville, Arkansas, and Radonda Cagle.

He was preceded in death by his mother Arvilla “Vell” Osburn; his father Dale Cope; and two sisters, Kathy Whiting and Debbie Cooper.
