Vicky Lea (Husted) Cooper, Blackwell resident, died on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023 at OU Medical Center. She was 61.
The family will host a memorial service at 2pm on Sat. Nov 25th at 1021 W. McKinnley in Blackwell. Arrangements for cremation were provided by Roberts and Son Funeral Home in Blackwell.
Vicky was born on Aug. 22, 1962 in Blackwell, OK to Robert Glen and Carol Jean (Inmon) Husted. She grew up in Blackwell, where she received her early education. She received her degree in Registered Nursing from Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. Vicky spent many years as a travel nurse as well as the Director of Nursing both at Pawnee and Wakita Nursing Homes.
Vicky was an avid crocheter and loved gardening. A social butterfly, Vicky had a wide circle of close friends who will all miss her infectious laughter and unwavering kindness. Vicky’s love for attending “Tipsy Artist” painting parties was only rivaled by her knack for trying to beat the odds at casino slots. She had a remarkable ability to see the best in people and was always quick to forgive.
Vicky’s love for spontaneous naps were well-known, and she could often by found dozing off in the most unexpected places much to the amusement of her friends and family. Vicky adored her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed in the lives of many.
She is survived by her her sons, Chad Purser of Oklahoma City, Seth Sullivan and Samantha of Ponca City and Sean Sullivan and wife Melody of Blackwell; brother, Rob Husted and wife Stacey of Blackwell; grandchildren, Gage Roundtree, Kayleah Sullivan, Sammi Sullivan, Tinley Sullivan and Huxley Sullivan and nephews, Blake Husted, Braden Husted and Bode Husted.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Nicholas Paul and one sister, Shelley Ann Husted.
