Sylvester Anthony "Tony" Cooper

March 29, 1940 ~ March 28, 2015

Sylvester Anthony "Tony" Cooper, 74, of McAlester, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa.

A Rosary will be recited 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 3 at Bishop Chapel of Memories.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Father Hung Le officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Tony was born on March 29, 1940 in Hartshorne to Tony A. & Catherine Dalpoas Cooper. He attended schools in Hartshorne.

Tony then joined the United States Army. He then was a carpenter in the Indianapolis, Indiana. He was married to Mary Lewis in November of 1959. He married Patricia Fairless in May of 1974 and then again married Mary in May of 2008.

Tony was an insurance salesman, a toat, which was the person who took cement and bricks to the bricklayer. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for some 10 years and also drove a truck for various companies.

Tony was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hartshorne, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Krebs and St. John’s Catholic Church of McAlester.

Survivors include his children: Catherine & Rafael Zevallos of Euless, Texas, Jason Cooper of McAlester, Denise & Claude Self of Stringtown, Gina & Chad Marical of Norman, Kevin Santino of Everett, Washington; brother & sister-in-law: Richard L. & Bobbie Cooper of Hartshorne; sisters: Patricia Cooper Denning of Portland, Tennessee, Betty War of Hartshorne.

Also, grandchildren & spouses: Amy & Jason Frazin, Wesley & Sara Self, Angela Cox & Kyle Beneventi, Kimberly Cox, Jeremey Santino, Matthew Santino, Christopher Santino, Jacey Cooper, Reedis & Chandler James, Leah James & Kevin Lowry, Tug James.

And, great-grandchildren: Skyler Self, Lucus Self, Keira Self, Rowdy Self, Harper Frazin, Jack Frazin, Ashton Beneventi, Hadleigh Lowry, Jaden James; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Patricia Cooper.

Honorary pallbearers Jason Cooper, Kevin Santino, Kyle Beneventi, Wesley Self, Reedis James, Tug James, C.J. Ferguson, Franky War, Jeremy Santino, Matthew Santino, Christopher Santino, Kevin Lowry, Claude Self, and James Rice.
