Margaret Gaynell (Russell) Shrum Cooper
February 8, 1933 ~ 2013

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Rummage officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.

Margaret Gaynell Shrum Cooper was born February 8, 1933 in Farmersville, TX to James Emmitt and Blanch (Brown) Russell. Margaret grew up in Farmersville graduating in 1950 from Van Alstyne, TX and that same year married Billy Joe Shrum. They moved to Bartlesville where they raised their six children.

Margaret married John C. Cooper in 1977 and worked with her husband in the cattle business in Dewey until his death in 2006. Margaret later moved back to Bartlesville. She was a member of the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church where she really enjoyed her Praise Sunday School class. She enjoyed day trips with Elder Care, was a member of Cattlewomen's Association and OHCE. She loved travelling to see family and also enjoyed genealogical research.

Margaret is survived by three daughters; Susan and husband Mark Wheat of Bartlesville, Rita and husband Ron Raines of Dewey, Trish and husband Alan Craighead of Cumming, GA and one step daughter, Kathy Cooper of Bartlesville. Two sons; Don Shrum and wife Carolyn of Guthrie, OK and Billy Shrum and wife Crystal of Lancaster, PA and one sister, Claudett Isbell of Plano, TX. She was blessed with fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two cats, Tiger and Annie, many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Cooper, her parents, one daughter, Carolyn Standridge, five brothers and three sisters.
