Louisa Marie Lowen Cooper, 80, of Copan, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at her home.

Memorial services for Mrs. Cooper will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 22, 2016, at the Copan Baptist Church with Rev. Willard Lyons officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville. Friends who wish may sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org.

Mrs. Cooper was born in Bartlesville on October 22, 1935 to Martin V. & Ala Mae Lowen. She grew up in southwest Bartlesville, attended Circle Mountain School and graduated from Ochelata High School in 1954. She was Salutatorian of her graduating class.

She married Edmund Cooper in 1964 and they established their home in Bartlesville. They moved to the Copan area in 1972. Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker most of her life; however, she worked briefly at the Copan School cafeteria, then later went to work at Jane Phillips Hospital in the housekeeping department. Mrs. Cooper retired from the Jane Phillips Hospital Environmental Services in 1997 after 16 years of service. She also volunteered at the Copan Senior Citizens Center for years. She was a long time member of the Copan Baptist Church and was previously a member of Matoaka Baptist Church in Ochelata.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by three children, Tony Sharpton and his wife, Beatrice of Copan, Valerie Wible of Edmond, Mike Cooper of Copan, one brother, Cleo Lowen of Dewey, 6 grandchildren, Brandon Barrett, Rachel Shorter, Danielle Smith, Lindsey Cooper, Tyrell Cooper, Shelby Cooper and 7 great grandchildren, Riley Tucker, Drake Smith, Madison Cooper, Wesley Cooper, Aiden Roberts, Dameon Harper, Hazelin Harper and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Cooper, her parents, Martin & Ala Mae Lowen, two brothers, Phyletus Lowen and James Lowen, two sisters, Nancy Lowen McClintock and Rosalie Lowen Polk.
