Howard Dean Cooksey
July 10, 1940 ~ November 19, 2018

Howard Dean Cooksey, 78, passed peacefully in his home on November 19, 2018. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 3:00pm at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 9:00am to 8:00pm with family greeting guest from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Howard was born to Willie and Ruby Cooksey in Direct, Texas on July 10, 1940. Howard and Barbara were married in Phoenix, Arizona on March 16, 1963. They had two sons, Carlas and John. Howard was a farmer, worked in the cotton fields. He also worked in a car dealership for Jerry Burger at Burger Auto Sales. He then retired an enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Howard loved noodling, working on cars and lawn mowers, and traveling. Most of all spending time with his beloved Bar-doll.

Howard is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Cooksey; parents, Willie and Ruby Cooksey; three brothers, Dan Cooksey, Raymond Cooksey, and Alvin Cooksey; three sisters, Edna Cooksey, Mary Asher and Margaret Dimond; one step granddaughter.

He is survived by two sons, Carlas Cooksey and wife, Ann, and John Cooksey and wife, Regina all of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one brother, Eddie Cooksey of Perry, Oklahoma; one sister, Barbara Beaver of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; four step grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
