Mary E. Cook gracefully left this world at her home in Fairfax, Oklahoma on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. After a life well-lived, Mary reached the age of 84 years.
Born on February 17, 1939, in Pawhuska, Mary was brought into this world by her proud parents James and Viola Coleman. She attended the Pawhuska Schools and later achieved her GED.
On February 17, 1957, Mary married the love of her life, Louis Coleman. Together, they created a nurturing home and were blessed with three children - two daughters and one son.
In her youth, Mary had an unwavering passion for exploring Osage County's glorious outdoors. She delighted in horseback riding and embraced the thrill of participating in rodeos. As time passed, Mary found joy working at the Fairfax Smoke Shop where she cherished connecting with the townspeople.
Mary leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by her daughter Zoe A. Halcrombe and son Charles J. Cook (Karen), all residents of Fairfax. In addition to her children, she will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Christy Wright (Martin Neave) from New Mexico; Cody (Caleb) Kennedy from Ralston; Caleb (Kimberly) Cook from Fairfax; Cassie Cook (Billy Ward) from Arkansas; Callie Cook from Ponca City; Moss Cook from Arkansas; Toby (Kristin) Cook from Oregon; Jeff Cook; Luke (Chelsea) Morris; and Seth Morris, all hailing from Arkansas. Mary also leaves behind thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren who will carry her legacy forward.
Joining Mary's heavenly journey are her beloved parents James C. Coleman and Viola M. (Tweedy) Coleman, her loving husband Louis C. Cook, her three brothers James Coleman Jr., Ronald Carl Coleman, and Raymond Coleman, her daughter Dawn M. Morris, and two great-grandsons Noah Cook and Barrett Cook.
