Frank Russell Cook
1934 ~ Jan. 5, 2022

Frank Russell Cook, known to all as Russell, passed away peacefully Jan. 5 at the age of 87.

Born in Graham, TX, in 1934, Russell grew up in Olney, TX with his parents Frank and Genevieve (Gene) Cook. After finishing his education at Baylor University with a chemical engineering degree, he served three years in the Army (thankfully during peacetime). He was honorably discharged and began life with his wife Ellen Marie Cook, settling in Garland, TX.

In 1961 Russell moved to Borger, TX, starting a long career with the J.M. Huber Corporation. Borger become their home where they raised their two sons for the next 20 years and where deep lifelong friendships were created. During that time Russell served as a deacon with First Baptist Church, was a member of a bowling league, hunted, fished, and made knives.

In 1981, he took a position with Phillips Petroleum Co. and they moved to Bartlesville, OK, where Russell lived until his passing. In Bartlesville, he served as a deacon and elder at First Presbyterian Church. His faith was his core and he led by example. In later years, he continued to fish and rekindled his skill to make beautiful knives. Russell was preceded in death by his wife Ellen (six months earlier); his eldest son J. Russell (Rusty) Cook; and his parents. He is survived by his son Dean Marshall Cook and wife Joy; their sons Daniel Shearer and wife Rachel, Justin Shearer and wife Katie, Thomas Cook; and great grandchildren Olivia, Lane, and Nora.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church, 505 SE Dewey Ave., Bartlesville, OK 74003.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, at the First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Stephen Carl officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com
