Darlene (Davis) Cook
September 5, 1952 ~ November 22, 2019

Darlene Cook, 67, of Paden, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on September 5, 1952 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Cecil Benny and Mary Francis (Almon) Davis. Darlene attended Paden schools and graduated from Paden High School. She also attended Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma and she earned a master’s degree in education from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.

Darlene married Charles Cook on March 17, 1978 in Okemah, Oklahoma and together they raised 3 children.

Darlene returned to Paden Schools and she taught there for 45 years as well as being the school’s scorekeeper, member of the PTA and filling in wherever she was needed.

Darlene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paden, Oklahoma. She enjoyed working at the Church and was an anchor for not only her family, but her Church family and the the town of Paden as well. She never said no to someone needing help.

Darlene loved to read and always had a book with her. Most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Tonya Davis.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles Cook; a daughter, Mary Ann Ward and her husband, Shannon; two sons, Justin Cook and Jim Ed Cook and his wife, Monica; two brothers, Benny Davis and Ronnie Davis; six grandchildren: Gracie Cook, Walon Cook, Gentry Ward, Jocelyn Ward, Sawyer Ward and Peyton Cook. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
