Dorothy Belle (Kimball) Cook

October 18, 1922 ~ June 16, 2013

DOROTHY BELLE (KIMBALL) COOK, daughter of William Thomas and Lula Belle (Moulden) Kimball, was born October 18, 1922 at Seiling, Oklahoma. She departed this life on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon at the age of 90 years.

Dorothy was raised at Seiling where she attended Seiling School, graduating from high school with the class of 1940. She moved to Spokane, WA where she worked for a lumber mill counting logs. Following the adoption of her daughter, Shelly Ann, they moved to Sacramento, CA then in 1976, she moved back to Seiling. She purchased the Kimball Ready-Mix plant from her brother and sister-in-law, Irvin and Esther Kimball.

She retired as bookkeeper and owner of the ready-mix plant in 1994 when she sold it to Dean Gilchrist. She continued to make her home in Seiling until building a home in Mustang where she moved with her daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Joe Lewallen. Dorothy was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards and bingo with family and friends. She was also involved in the antique business both buying and selling.

She was active in community affairs and she served on the Seiling Hospital Board and the Area Medical Foundation several years. She enjoyed the activities of the Mustang Community Center as well. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Seiling and later she attended the Elm Grove Community Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Lewallen and husband Joe of Mustang, two grandchildren, Mariah Jo Lewallen and Boo Kimball Lewallen both of Mustang, two half brothers, Allen and Roger Kimball, as well as, many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Clifford, Clayton, Irvin and Wesley.

Memorials can be made to the Area Medical Foundation with Redinger Funeral Home-Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663 serving as custodian of the funds.
