April 15, 1948 ~ June 16, 2014

ENID, OK - Floyd "Tony" "Tiger" Contway was born April 15, 1948, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Lyle and Lois (Cope) Contway and died Monday, June 16, 2014, in Oklahoma City.

He attended Poway High School in San Diego, Calif., before graduating from the New Mexico Military Institute in 1966.

Tony went on to attend Grossmont College in San Diego, the 'West Coast Ivy League School.'

After serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict, Tony went into the family car business in San Diego.

In 1986, he moved to Oklahoma and opened Mr. T's Pawn & Gun in McAlester, alongside his father Lyle.

In 1990, Tony moved to Enid and opened Tiger Pawn. He had been owner and operator with his son T.J., since.

Tony had a passion for the pawn industry since a young age. He loved sports too, especially basketball. He was owner and supporter of Enid�s Oklahoma Storm of the USBL.

He also enjoyed his Harley Davidson trike. If he wasn't at work or at a sporting event, Tony could be found enjoying the coy pond he created at his home. His true joy, however, was his job, where he loved to be every day.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark Contway; grandmother, Dolly Weiss; and the company guard dog, Jesus Von Zipper III.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Tiffany McVicker and husband Rick and their daughter, Kayla; son, T.J. Runser and his son, Tabor Runser; son, Cody Contway and wife Corinda and their daughter, Astoria Eve Contway; daughter, Elizabeth Harger and husband Cason; brother, James Contway and wife Doris; ex-wife, Jill Morris; second wife, Lori Runser; and loyal employees, Jo Rogers, Maria Mendoza and Trae Session.

At Tony's request, he will be cremated.

He is available for viewing Thursday, June 19, 2014, through Sunday, June 22, 2014, with family present every day from 4-8 p.m. at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home, where there also is a register book available for signing.

Memorials can be given through the funeral home to Leonardo's Discovery Warehouse or the YWCA of Enid.
