Raoul S. "Pat" Contois
March 17, 1953 ~ May 8, 2014

Retired Sergeant First Class Raoul "Pat" S. Contois, age 61, passed away at home on Thursday, May 8, 2014, following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 17, 1953, at Fort Belvoir, VA, to Albert A. Contois, Sr. and Dorothy Evelyn [Lane] Contois.

Raoul grew up primarily in Columbus, GA, graduating from Baker High School in Columbus.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1972, serving tours in Korea and Germany. He also served at several stateside posts and was a drill sergeant at Fort Sill in the 1980's. His awards and decorations include The Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Drill Sergeant Badge, Parachutist Badge, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, among others. He was medically retired from the Army in 1994.

Raoul is survived by his wife of 38 years, Robin Contois, of Lawton. He is also survived by his son, Christopher Contois, and his wife, Emily, of Providence, Rhode Island. Raoul's surviving brothers are Albert A. Contois, Jr. of New Port Richey, Florida; and Ellis E. Contois of Cusseta, Georgia.

Raoul is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joy Contois.
