JEFFERSON, LA - Gerald "Gary" Eugene Conrady passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, in Jefferson, La. He was born in Wakita, Okla., to Frank and Catherine Conrady on Feb. 19, 1937, the sixth of 12 children.

He was raised in Enid and graduated from Memorial (St. Joe) High School in 1957. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, and later to New Orleans, La. He was involved in retail sales until his retirement in 2005.

During his almost 50 years in New Orleans, all major hurricanes missed his home. He rode out Hurricane Katrina and said he would never do that again. As colossal as she was, she, too, missed his neighborhood.

Gary is survived by his children, Edie, Gary Jr., Chrystal and Shane; three brothers, Leo, Richard and Lawrence; five sisters, Mary, Rose, Rita, Renee and Cathy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Frank Jr., Dennis and Phil.

A private family gathering will be in Louisiana.
