Rodger Miles Conner, 70, of Moore, OK passed away April 18, 2018. He was born July 19, 1947 to Elmer "Gene" and Barbara Conner in Hartner, KS. Rodger heard his country's call and joined the US Army in the 101st Airborn Infantry as a paratrooper and served in the Vietnam War where he saw a lot of combat.
He spent most of his career life working in the oilfield industry taking him to many places around the middle east. Rodger retired in Moore with his wife, Raquel from the oilfield.
Rodger enjoyed watching sports and cooking. He loved gardening and making sure his yard looked good. He also enjoyed being outdoors and fishing when he was younger. He loved his fur-babies Thunder and Angel.
He loved mechanics and was a natural at fixing things. Rodger always tried to pass the knowledge of mechanics onto others. He had his hands in about every trade. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Rodger is survived by his wife of 12 years, Raquel Conner; children, Kristin Conner and husband, Kevin Kaiser, Jamie Conner, and Robert Conner and fiance, Diana Buckley; grandchildren, Lauren Rosner, Ethan Conner-Mazzio, and William Janke; sibling, Sandy Wood; sister-in-law, Judy Conner; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Lynn Conner, his parents, Elmer "Gene" and Barbara Conner; siblings, Jeanie Bell and Steve Conner; brothers-in-law, Grant Bell and Rick Wood; son-in-law, Matthew Janke; grandson-in-law, Jordan Rosner.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM,
Monday, April 23, 2018 at Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 E. Main St., Moore, OK.
Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel,
Moore, OK.
