Thank You For Your Service!

James Allen "Bud" Cone

December 6, 1921 ~ February 27, 2004

Services will be held for James Allen (Bud) Cone, Wednesday, March 3, 2004, 11:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Bud was born in Davis, Oklahoma, on December 6, 1921 and was called to be with his Creator, February 27, 2004. Bud served in the U.S. Navy during WW II as a Chief Toredinab aboard the destroyer USSA Franks in the Pacific Theater. After the way Bud moved to California where he met and married his wife of 48 years, Wanna. Bud worked for many years in Kern County as a heavy equipment operator. He and his grader left their mark on this county from the oil fields to remote communications stations in the mountains. More than once Bud was called out to clear the road so the snow plow operators could get to work. He retired from equipment operation in 1990 and spent his time tending his beautiful lawns and gardens. In December of 1994 Bud lost his beloved Wanna. But later married his long time neighbor and friend, Eulene Rogers.

Bud is survived by his wife, Eulene; his daughter and granddaughter, Debra and Julie Green of Bakersfield; his daughter and family, Teresa and Craig Barnett; granddaughters, Krista Barnett and Tracy Barnett; great grandson, Andrew Barnett, all of Bakersfield. Bud also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ross Smith of Davis, Oklahoma. Also surviving Bud are his two stepdaughters, Stephanie and Shauna, both of Bakersfield.

Bud was a wonderful man and will be missed by many. We rejoice that he has gone to be at peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
