Dennis Michael Cone
January 31, 1947 ~ December 16, 2022

Dennis Michael Cone, 75, went to his heavenly home on Friday, December 16, 2022 in Welling , Oklahoma surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, a respected man of his community and a devout Christian.

Dennis was such a light in this world and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He touched the lives of so many people across multiple generations. Dennis was a giving, compassionate soul with a big heart. Anyone who knew Dennis knows his family meant everything to him. Dennis had an unwavering faith in God and his faith only became stronger in his final days. He attended Rocky Mountain Community Church in Rocky Mountain, Oklahoma.

Dennis was born to Carl and Polly Cone on January 31, 1947. He graduated from Cave Springs High School in 1967 and from there pursued an extensive, successful career in construction. He was also employed by Sequoyah Fuels in Gore, Oklahoma and finished his career at Tenkiller Public Schools.

Dennis married the love of his life, Sharon in 1967, together they had four children, Glen, Kimberly, Brad and Jody; five grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Haleigh, Trey and Jaycee; two great grandchildren, Casen and Tesslee, all who loved him dearly.

The simplest pleasures in life brought Dennis great joy. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed coon hunting, creek fishing, riding his mules and winning at field trials. Dennis had a passion and talent for building things. One of his favorite things to do was build unique, custom-made picture frames. Dennis had a fierce competitive spirit which he passed down to his children. He loved watching their sporting events, almost never missing a game. He would often offer coaching advice. A lot of life lessons were learned under the walnut tree.

Dennis was a strong, determined man. He faced unsurmountable obstacles with courage and grace. He was truly an inspiration and our hero.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; his three sons Glen and wife Joleta of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Brad of Stilwell, OK, Jody and his wife Jennifer of Stilwell, OK; one daughter Kimberly of Rogers, AR; five grandchildren Brittany, Cody, Haleigh, Trey and Jaycee; two great grandchildren Casen and Tesslee.
