Vernon Eugene Combs, 72, Bartlesville resident, was born on April 7,1954 in Bartlesville, the son of Nathaniel Combs and Nancy Louise Odeal and passed away on April 25, 2026 in Bartlesville. He was raised and educated in Dewey.

He owned and operated five bars, the latest Vern’s Tavern in Bartlesville.

Vernon met and married Carol Ann Stittsworth on November 1, 2005 in Bartlesville. They made Bartlesville home until his passing.

Vern loved fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of the residence; step-son, Reed Taylor of Bartlesville; children, Dana Combs of Bartlesville, and Nathan Combs of Boliver, Missouri; two brothers and one sister; sister in laws, Jocelyn Stittsworth of Ada, Susan Whitson of Ardmoe; brother in laws, Patrick Stittsworth of Owasso; Bill and wife Amy Stittsworth of Enid; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Vernon was preceded in passing by his parents, three brothers, and daughter Sheri Dawn.
