Linda Sue (Gray) Combs was born September 19th, 1947, to Neal E. Gray and Winnifred L. Gray. She went to be with Jesus on June 6th, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1965. She grew up in Shawnee, but spent most of her life on the farm in Earlsboro.
She touched many young people's lives, as her life was touched by them. She was an assistant teacher for special needs children in the Shawnee public school system for 27 years, and taught religious education classes for 20 years at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located in Seminole. She retired in January of 2002.
She married the love of her life, George P. Combs on March 25, 1965, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Shawnee. They loved and supported each other for 59 years. Together they had 3 children: Philip, Michelle and Chris.
She was preceded in death by her parents Neal E. Gray; Winnifred L. Gray; George and Clara Combs; and brother, Gary E. Gray.
Linda is survived by her husband, George, of the home; her children: Philip and Kristy Combs, Eagle, Idaho; Michelle and Sam Glenn, Haslet, Texas; Chris and Amy Combs, Earlsboro, Oklahoma; Grandchildren: Dylan Combs, Marah Combs, Olivia Combs, Gracie Glenn, Sophie Glenn, Izzy Glenn, Simon Combs, Lucas Combs, Seth Combs and Samantha Combs.
She enjoyed traveling with George, spending time with her children and grandchildren, shopping with her sister-in-law, Linda, talking with her friends Pam, Elaine, Ardery, Kay and Caria, and cooking, reading, gardening, and loving on all of her animals.
Special thank you to Frontier Hospice nurses, Manoi Birdsong and Jordan Roberts.
The pallbearers will be husband, George Combs, sons: Philip and Chris Combs, and grandsons: Dylan, Simon, Lucas, and Seth Combs. Officiated by Reverend Mike Craig.
