Rev. Dr. Sheila Combs-Francis

September 11, 1950 ~ January 06, 2018

Funeral Services for the Rev. Dr. Sheila Combs-Francis, age 67, is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at New Hope United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dianne Peters and the Rev. Emily Robnett officiating . 

Private family burial in Roselawn Cemetery, at Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Visitation with the family is 5-6:00 p.m. this evening, Jan. 12, 2018, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. 

Sheila was born to Raymond S. Jr. and Annabel Clay Combs on September 11, 1950, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, in Burbank, California.

She graduated from John Brown University in 1972, with a Bachelor in Music Education. She graduated from East Texas State University in 1974, with a Master in Music. 

In 1982, Sheila was a Phillips University graduate in seminary. She received her Doctorate of Ministry from Southern Methodist University in 1986. 

On December 20, 1981, she married Thomas F. Francis in Cashion, Oklahoma. Sheila was ordained as Deacon of United Methodist Church in 1980 and ordained minister in 1983. 

Sheila served churches in Cashion, Geary, Hennessey, Billings, Sayre, Ponca City, Enid, Antlers and Kaw City. She was a Chaplain at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid. 

Sheila was a member of Kiwanis 1995-2009, and past president of Habitat for Humanity in Ponca City and Enid. She served on the board for the Child Advocacy Center in Ponca City. 

Sheila is survived by her husband Thomas of the home; daughter Anna V. Combs-Francis of Los Angeles, California; sister Virginia Combs. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and an uncle.
