David Michael (Cowboy) Combs, age 54, of Shawnee, Oklahoma departed this life Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his wife and step daughter. He was born June 14, 1967 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Michael Warren Combs and the late Karen Ann Smith-Combs. He married Karen Rae Combs June 12, 2018 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
David went to Shawnee High School. He worked as a meat butcher most of his life until he found his new passion which was truck driving. He enjoyed being on the road with his doggy Boomer. He was a devoted husband, father, son, friend and most importantly a dad to his precious puppies.
In his spare time David enjoyed sitting at home in Checotah, Oklahoma watching anything sports with his wife and dogs. In the summer, they would spend most of their free time at the lake with friends. David’s most cherished moments was any time he got to spend with his grandkids.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Ann Combs; his aunt, Linda Smith; and grandma and grandpa Flick.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Rae Combs of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Father, Michael Combs of Texas; Daughters, Natosha Crider and her husband, Derrick Colson and their kids of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Dedra Meeks and her husband, Dalton Meeks and their daughters of Seminole, Oklahoma; Sons, Phillip Searcy and his wife Candace Searcy and their kids of Healdton, Oklahoma and Alan Brewer of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Sisters, Dalinda French and her husband Alfred French of SE Oklahoma, Dana Cornforth and her husband Shawn Cornforth of Edmond, Oklahoma and Schuyler Combs; And many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, December 3, 2021 from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021 at Bethel Acres Assembly Church with Reverend Larry Townsend officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any animal rescue or animal shelter.
